SIX MONTH TRIAL OF GE’S REVOLUTION CT YIELDS POSITIVE RESULTS
Revolution CT Offers High-Resolution Images and Low-Dose Exposure
GE Healthcare’s Revolution CT was passed by the FDA in mid 2014, in September 2014 the West Kendall Baptist Hospital in Florida became the first medical centre in the US to try out the machine. The West Kendall Baptist Hospital was the first facility in the world to conduct a six-month trial of the Revolution CT, which was completed in January 2015. The machine allows clinicians to obtain high resolution images of blood vessels, organs, soft tissue and bones without exposing patients to high doses of radiation.
In addition to the high quality imagery, physicians at the Floridian hospital reported favorable patient feedback about their experience with the Revolution CT. West Kendall Baptist Hospital CEO Javier Hernández-Lichtl said, “The advanced design definitely makes for a less intimidating, more comfortable patient experience, while yielding amazingly accurate and detailed images.” GE released some stunning images that were captured with the machine.
