Dr. Charles Strother, Helping to Advance Stroke Patient Care

Dr. Charles Strother a stroke expert (now retired from surgery) is working on developing methods and technologies that could help surgeons treat their patients faster and more efficiently in the future. The veteran surgeon from Wisconsin is helping to advance the area of Interventional Neuroradiology. The two aims of his work are to develop advanced imaging techniques that will help doctors see more effectively during minimally invasive procedures and also to develop devices that are appropriate for revascularization and other such neurological procedures. He highlights the “angiography unit as the stroke unit of the future” and believes its inclusion in stroke care will permit a large reduction of wasted time in treating patients.
