ND INFUSION CATHETER DELIVERS STEM CELLS INTO THE HEART

TRI's ND Infusion Catheter Used to Deliver Stem Cells for First Time

A recent announcement from the Translational Research Institute, also known as TRI Medical, confirmed that its ND Infusion Catheter was used for the first time to place stem cells within the heart. The procedure took place at the German Cardiology Center at the University of Frankfurt. The ND Infusion Catheter employs a balloon that can work with a variety of blood vessel sizes to cut off the blood flow while stem cells are being delivered. The stem cells exit through multiple tubes at the end of the catheter that spray them out evenly through the blood vessel segment. This separation into smaller tubes reduces the chances of clumping. The balloon’s design also reduces radial forces, potentially minimising vascular trauma.
