Abbott receives FDA-approval for flexible stent system

Abbott recently received FDA-approval for their Supera Peripheral Stent System, used to treat peripheral artery disease and relieve leg pain in patients. Designed to “mimic rather than resist” artery movement, the stent effectively and safely maintains blocked vessels open, allowing patients to take part in physical activity. Following very promising clinical trials along with FDA-approval, the rate of stent fractures was encouragingly low.
