The Maquet Oty View has been developed in response to requests by many medical facilities for a telemedical communication system that is compact, versatile, easy to use and cost-effective. This video communications system, which has been specially designed for medical use, transmits both images and sound live from the operating room (OR) to a personal computer. The system can broadcast through the in-house IT network or to any location worldwide via Internet. Whether a second opinion is sought from a specialist or if a doctor wishes to get an update on the status of a surgical intervention, all that is required is a wireless local area network (WLAN) access at a hotel, in an airport, at a convention centre or at home to make the link to the OR by accessing the password-protected Internet area.
