System Allows View of Sample Under Testing

Hitachi’s DMA7100 (Dynamic Mechanical Spectrometer) with built-in Sample Observation System allows researchers to see a sample while it is undergoing dynamic mechanical testing in any of seven geometries: single cantilever, dual cantilever, tension, compression, shear, film shear and 3-point bending.

The sample observation system displays and saves all of the sample alterations by continuous imaging. After measurement, the saved image can be loaded, linked to temperature and each signal, displayed in a blink and analyzed. The spectrometer is equipped with easy-to-use interactive software; even a first-time user can simply and confidently operate with the Simple Measurement Wizard. The instrument comes standard with a Lissajous monitor for observing the relationship between stress and strain of the sample being measured. The deformation of a sample can be verified in real-time at every measurement point. The spetcrometer also offers an optional Auto LN2 Gas Cooling Unit, and has a temperature range of -150 to +600 C. Other features include a wider frequency range and a new, more compact space-saving design.
