Trocar Sweep Absorbs, Removes Fluid, Debris

Trocar Sweep is an instrument designed to absorb and remove fluid and debris within laparoscope trocars that accumulates during laparoscopic surgical procedures to prevent the laparoscope from smudging during reinsertion.

Trocar Sweep uses surgical foam common in ENT and ophthalmic operations that absorbs 10 times its weight in fluid on the distal end of the instrument to wick the moister and bodily fluids from the optical trocar. The Trocar Sweep PVA surgical foam is lint and fiber free, configured in a series of five, evenly spaced discs that agitates fluid off the main valve where the largest amount of fluid rests. Because Trocar Sweep’s outer diameter closely approximates the inner diameter of the laparoscope trocar, debris is dislodged and fluid absorbed in the lumen and outer seal.
