The aim of World Hearing Day, promoted by the World Health Organization, is to raise the attention on the importance of hearing assessment to fight unaddressed hearing loss and ear diseases at all ages. Screening is the first step towards hearing care.

At RESONANCE, with a mission to create innovative solutions for hearing assessment, we want to support WHO call for action with a dedicated video shared on social media and circulated among our distributors worldwide. The video promotes hearing assessment with the claim "Unlock ALL the colors of hearing"

Within the RESONANCE device portfolio, one device has been conceived for nationwide screening projects: Resonance R17A-BC portable audiometer, paired with the Ambient Noise Monitor and RE-Play, play audiometry for children from 3 years old, it's the perfect solution for screening activities.

Resonance portable audiometer R17A has been successfully implemented in national screening projects on hearing assessment on children at school age in Turkey, Chile, Ecuador, and Italy. In Turkey, more than 1,300 devices are on the road testing children every day, even in remote areas. Over 2,000,000 patients reports have been collected since 2018 and made immediately available to doctors, centrally located, for diagnosis and data analysis.

A wide range of test capabilities :

• AUDIOMETRY - Automatic Pure Tone test (Frequency levels range from 125 Hz to 12500 Hz, and Stimulus level run from -10 dB HL to 110 dB HL), Speech Audiometry Test with SRT (performed with on-board recorded speech material), Autothreshold (Automatic audiometry on HW algorithm), Automatic and Manual PTA, Weber, AC, BC and FF output, Integrated talk forward function.

• RE-Play - RESONANCE Interactive Play Audiometry has been conceived to make the child more comfortable during the test. The idea is that the child is no longer the patient, but takes the lead becoming the Bandmaster, making auditions to the elements of a band.

It takes around 3 minutes to perform the test (0.5-4 kHz) and it is suited to evaluate children from 3 years old and onwards.

During the auditions, each animal plays a series of instruments:

- if the child hears the instrument playing, he should choose it for the band AKA the Toy Box

- If the child does not hear the instrument, he’s asked to put it in the bin

• The accuracy of the measurements is ensured by Ambient Noise Monitoring, the function can be activated while performing the tests in any environment.
