New IONIX electrolyte analyser to be marketed in 2016

SFRI announces it is currently in the final phases of releasing its innovative new electrolyte analyser. The IONIX will be marketed beginning 2016.

The IONIX is a new generation electrolyte analyser that is fully flexible and upgradeable. Designed for the direct determination of Na+, K+, Cl-, Ca2+, pH by ion selective electrodes in whole blood, serum, and aqueous QC material, it is destined for small to medium sized laboratories. In fact, the IONIX series was designed to be fully customisable by labs.

A key advantage of this instrument is its use of primary tubes. Labs will be able to load the analyser directly, ensuring better aspiration and avoiding cross contamination and potential identification errors.

Options range from basic manual 1 position rack (IONIX BASIC) to automatic 5 position rack for automated operations (IONIX ADVANCED) with optional 30 position autoloader, sample and reagent barcode readers, TCO2 modules and choice of electrodes. With this “Build-it yourself” system, distributors around the world will be able to directly personalise the instrument themselves. They will have 1 type of instrument plus optional modules to tailor instruments to their clients’ needs. This means less instruments in stock and more flexibility and reactivity towards clients.

Clients will have the choice between 4 possible combinations of 7 different electrodes and 9 possible parameters. This will allow every lab to accommodate to their specific testing needs and save costs by not investing in useless electrodes and tests. All electrodes are highly stable and non-refillable consumables with simple push and plug to get started.

But the main innovation is its focus on complete A to Z traceability of electrodes and tests. Traceability has often proven a problem for labs wishing to be certified. Thanks to an integrated microchip tracking system in each electrode, traceability and reliability of results will no longer be an issue. Traceability options include a full history of electrodes, lot number and levels of reagents, QC, maintenance, etc.

Operations have never been simpler thanks to the large colour multilingual touch screen interface. The colour coded menu system will increase lab efficiency. All in all, this new interface will revolutionize daily operations and labs will have an analyser they are proud to show off.

All of this plus its modern high-tech design make the IONIX a must have instrument for 2016.
