When patients have a head injury or stroke, the treatment may be dependent on the MAP. It can be calculated using the formula of the systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and pulse pressure(PP). If you want to know how to calculate the MAp, here is the the MAP equation:

MAP = DP + 1/3(SP – DP) or MAP = DP + 1/3(PP).
