Japan "Thumbs-Up" for iFlash COVID-19 Detection Solution

Tokyo will conduct antibody testing with iFlash COVID-19 detection solution.

The report pointed out that Tokyo will carry out a total of 3000 antibody testing per month since this June till next March. All the tests will be conducted by TMIMS for the purpose of checking antibody distribution in the population and making available response measures for future infections in Tokyo.

As early as May 14, TMIMS and 7 well-known medical and research institutions including the University of Tokyo Affiliated Hospital, formed an organization called "iFlash User Association". Through the use of iFlash COVID-19 detection solution, the association members study SARS-CoV-2 IgM/IgG antibodies and will set up a more accurate diagnostic method together with PCR test.

It can be seen in the news video that the researchers took out the blood samples of the COVID-19 pneumonia patients collected from 14 hospitals in Tokyo from freezer and put them into iFlash 3000 chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer. With this fully automated system, all test results can be obtained in about 2 hours. "Monthly testing is conducted to clearly understand whether there is growth in each area and how many patients are growing. It may also be able to understand the changes in infection status in each season, and it can be used in Tokyo to make available response measures in the next infection. " Researchers said.

Previously, Professor Tatsuhiko Kodama, the important participant in Japan's anti-epidemic research and the emeritus professor of Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology of the University of Tokyo, stated to the media that China's response to the epidemic was fast and the control was also very strong. At the end of this February, his institution has begun using YHLO’s COVID-19 detection solution and found it excellent in performance, so he took the lead in using this series of products. It is hoped that the research on the antibody against the novel coronavirus can be carried out in Japan through China Wisdom Products, and an effective epidemic surveillance model will be established in Japan.
