KARL100 grants a high radioprotection to the ADRZ Medical Center Nuclear Medicine department

KARL100, our automatic radiopharmaceutical dispenser, has its third unit finally on duty in the Netherlands.

We are in Zeeland, more precisely in Goes, on the banks of Oosteschelde and Veerse Meer, for the installation of KARL100 with the ADRZ Medical Center team.

The nuclear medicine department, consisting of 8 laboratory technicians and 2 physicians, is a regional landmark for PET diagnostic and the administration of nuclear therapies.

KARL100 is part of a development and updating project concerning all of the department activities, which had been preparing and dispensing doses manually, aimed at reducing considerably the personnel exposure to irradiation.

Following the installation of KARL100, the radiopharmaceutical dispensing process for PET diagnostic will be completely automated. A remarkable change for a department that’s also planning to use KARL100 in a workflow that involves other kinds of radiopharmaceuticals soon, too.
