Medical Waste in Vietnam: The Tesalys and UNICEF Initiative
Protecting children's health and the environment through innovative medical waste management in rural Vietnam.
In rural areas of Vietnam, medical waste poses a daily threat to children, healthcare workers, and the environment. Through a partnership between Tesalys, UNICEF, and the Australian government, six remote hospitals are now equipped with the STERIPLUS™ 40 technology—an innovative solution that safely sterilizes infectious healthcare waste. This pilot project is already reducing health risks, improving air quality, and providing a sustainable model for medical waste management. It stands as a powerful example of how technology, training, and international collaboration can come together to improve public health and protect the planet.
