What are the treatments for carotid artery thrombosis?

Model: Carotid Artery I(SJJ004D-01)

Carotid artery thrombosis is actually divided into two situations: one is carotid artery thrombosis, which is often caused by vulnerable plaques on the basis of carotid artery stenosis and stenosis; the other is thromboembolism, which is mostly caused by atrial thrombosis. The fibrillating atrial emboli broke off and blocked the carotid artery along with the blood flow. Carotid artery thrombosis is often an emergency. If not treated in time, it may cause large-scale cerebral infarction. Therefore, early examination, clear diagnosis, and initiating thrombolytic treatment as soon as possible are necessary. If the time window for systemic thrombolysis exceeds the time window, or the effect is not expected to be good, it should be sent to the interventional room as soon as possible for angiography of the head and neck. Transcatheter thrombolysis and thrombectomy with a stent to extract the thrombus can be performed according to the situation. Combining balloon expansion and stent implantation, the head and neck blood vessels blocked by thrombus can be opened as soon as possible. While performing interventional treatment of carotid artery thrombosis, attention should be paid to the use of brain protection devices to prevent thrombus from falling into the intracranial arteries.

The carotid artery model is made of silicone shore 40A, which includes ACA,MCA and internal carotid artery, the M1 segment of MCA features embolism lesions. The model is primarily designed to simulate thrombectomy operation on MCA.It can also be used for the training of doctors and the development of intracranial interventional devices.
