PERISPHERA®-H - Vaginal probe for perineal re-education

On September 15, BEACMED started the mass production of the new vaginal probe

PERISPHERA®-H.

Its very particular design and concept allows to perform prevention and treatment of

urinary incontinence in the most effective way, by differentiating the left and the right side of the pubo-coccygeal muscle.

The electrodes of the PERISPHERA®-H probe, with a contact area of more than 3.2 cm2/electrode, are perfectly suited to the vaginal cavity at rest, which is characterized by an "H" profile.

4 electrodes (2 left and 2 right) allow to perform a bilateral perineal electrostimulation with different parameters a/o intensities.

The same 4 electrodes allow to acquire a dual channel EMG signal, suitable to carefully assess the pelvic floor muscular balance and to apply the EMG biofeedback Left/Right.

PERISPHERA®-H offers the advantage to treat the two branches of the pubococcygeal muscle asymmetrically and independently, but simultaneously, with 2 electrostimulation channels or 2 EMG biofeedback channels (for muscle asymmetry results from episiotomy).

The four wires with 2mm female plugs may be connected indeed to the outputs of a dual channels perineal unit.

The two pairs of electrodes intercepting the left and right branches of the pubococcygeal muscle allow to separately acquire the action potential (EMG) produced by each of the two branches in the contraction phase, which gives to the rehabilitator objective information on the state of the pelvic floor muscle.
