Perineal probe TOTEM Combicon

During Medica 2014, in Düsseldorf, beside the new line of perineal probes PERISPHERA,

BEACMED presented a new version of combined vaginal probe.

New advanced materials have been adopted for producing the new combined vaginal probe, manufactured by BEACMED and marketed with the name TOTEM Combicon.

The personal vaginal probe TOTEM Combicon allows differentiated trainings on the left and the right side of the pubo-coccygeal muscle, either by electrical stimulation or by EMG biofeedback and simultaneously acquiring the pressure produced during the involuntary or voluntary contraction of the pelvic floor by the patient.

A soft balloon with rounded cylindrical shape supports two couples of “saddle shaped” gilded electrodes.

4 electrodes (2 left and 2 right) allow bilateral perineal electrostimulation with different parameters a/o intensities. The same 4 electrodes allow to acquire a dual channel EMG signal, suitable to carefully assess the pelvic floor muscular balance.

TOTEM Combicon is made to be used together with the professional wireless unit

TOTEM-UG®, however (through an adapter) it may be used with any professional unit suitable for uro-gynecologic rehabilitation provided with a dual channel output for electrical stimulation, two channels input for EMG biofeedback and at least one channel input for pressure biofeedback.

Considering that the assessment is no less important than therapeutical treatments, aimed to the urinary incontinence reeducation, the TOTEM Combicon probe may offer additional

advantages by objectivating the different phases of the continence recuperation.
