From Portability to Clinical Superiority: Clarius Sets New Global Standard with 5 CE-Marked AI Models for Handheld Ultrasound

Clarius launches advanced AI across the UK, Europe, and Benelux, proving that handheld imaging now rivals traditional ultrasound systems in diagnostic power

Vancouver, BC — May 6, 2026 — Clarius Mobile Health, a global leader in AI-powered handheld ultrasound, today announced a landmark expansion of its AI portfolio across Europe. Following CE Mark certification, five specialized Clarius AI models including Bladder AI, MSK AI, OB AI, Prostate AI, and Median Nerve AI, are now available to clinicians in Germany, the UK, France, Italy, Spain, and the Benelux region for use with Clarius ultrasound scanners.

Clarius Intelligence: Simplifying Complex Imaging for Every Clinician

For years, handheld ultrasound required a trade-off. Practitioners often gave up image quality and advanced features for the sake of convenience. Clarius is closing that gap by building AI directly into the scanner. This technology, known as Clarius Intelligence, helps clinicians integrate ultrasound into daily practice across four areas:

Greater Clinical Confidence: Automatically highlighting anatomy and performing real-time measurements to support confident decisions at the bedside.
Reduced User Variability: AI-driven tools standardize the exam process, ensuring that results are consistent and reliable regardless of who is performing the scan.
A Shorter Learning Curve: With AI-guided workflows and anatomical overlays, ultrasound becomes much easier to adopt, allowing practitioners to bypass the steep learning curve of traditional systems.
Enhanced Efficiency: Automated features speed up the scanning process and reduce the need for repeat exams, saving critical time in busy clinical environments.
"For a decade, portability defined handheld ultrasound. Today, Clarius Intelligence sets a new standard for clinical performance," said Sarah Leverett, Vice President of Marketing at Clarius. "We are delivering the imaging quality and AI tools clinicians expect from cart-based systems in a device they can pick up and use immediately."

Expanding Access to Specialized Care

By making ultrasound smarter and more consistent, Clarius is lowering the barrier to Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) across multiple specialties:

Bladder AI: Allows nursing and support staff to perform bladder volume checks with expert-level accuracy, freeing up physicians for more complex tasks.
MSK AI: Enhances the accuracy of musculoskeletal exams, helping practitioners identify issues and start treatments faster, reducing patient wait times and accelerating pain relief.
OB AI: Simplifies obstetric biometry by guiding midwives and GPs to the best image quality and providing real-time feedback on fetal measurements.
Median Nerve AI: Specifically for carpal tunnel assessments, this tool identifies the nerve and completes measurements in seconds, ensuring consistent results across the clinic.
Prostate AI: Instantly identifies the prostate and calculates volume in seconds, with optional caliper adjustments for enhanced precision. It also computes PSA density using entered PSA values and measured volume, helping clinicians more quickly assess conditions such as BPH and prostate cancer.
“Prostate AI is genuinely inspiring,” says Dr. Nader Naderi, Urologist at the Andros Clinic in The Netherlands. “I was excited the moment I saw it. The automated volume measurement will save meaningful time in my practice, and I can already envision my nurse practitioners taking on these measurements independently.”
