IR/UV CURING-LIGHT OVENS CREATED BY DIAGRAM

IR/UV CURING-LIGHT OVENS CREATED BY DIAGRAM

The increasing speed at which new materials and technologies are being developed, requires the use of a multifunctional piece of equipment which is suitable for the needs both of Prosthetic Dentists, as well as for the Dental Technician Laboratory.

This series of curing-light ovens has been specifically designed to treat any light-setting material or any material requiring the uniform and regulated heat treatment typically provided by Infra-red heating.

• FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTIC

-All functions can be regulated by means of a microprocessor, therefore each work program is set according to the operator’s selection, (in 5 languages, excluding series E) or by an intuitive control panel and integrated with written directions.

-Provided with a serial port, to update its software and to check the wear of UV lamps.

-Chamber with a high reflection level and/or hardened mirroring glass panels equipped for the best possible performance of UV rays, with wide spectral distribution from 320 to 550 nm. It is very spacious and can contain the vacuum jar.

Configuration Models:

IR/UV 06 CT

- 8 UV cold-light lamps, power: 50 mW/cm², max. temperature 38°C

- 2 UV 75 Watt Spots, power: 500 mW/cm², max. temperature 49°C

- 1 IR lamp, max. temperature 130°C.

- Thermostatic, high precision, regulation of the temperature, permanently on display reading

UV/UV 09 E

with the fan and wide UV protective glass door, CE standards

- 8 UV cold-light lamps, power: 50 mW/cm², max. temperature 38°C

- 2 UV 75 Watt Spots, power: 500 mW/cm², max. temperature 49°C

IR/UV 09 E

with the fan and wide UV protective glass door, CE standards

- 8 UV cold-light lamps, power: 50 mW/cm², max. temperature 38°C

- 2 UV 75 Watt Spots, power: 500 mW/cm², max. temperature 49°C

- 1 IR lamp, max. temperature 130°C. (without thermostatic regulation)

All models can be fitted with their exclusive optionals:

* Rotating Plate: very versatile, mobile and removable, when it is not used

* Vacuum Jar: unfastened and mobile

* External Spot-Led: for rapid stratifications outside the oven.

Most frequent operations performed with UV light:

- Curing of all resins for bridges and crowns;

- Curing of all plate resins for trays;

- Curing of all light-setting resins for moulding (in telescopic and conometric techniques, and double crowns);

- Curing of deep inlays.

Most frequent operations performed drying with IR, Infrared Rays:

(Infrared irradiation has the acknowledged advantage of irradiating from the inside towards the outside, at the same time and at the same temperature, all the parts of the product.):

-paints, hardening liquids and insulators on inlay models, frameworks, gypsum models and flasks;

- residual moisture in ceramic masses on the interface level with Metal or Zirconia;

- it can be used to eliminate working stress in waxes, for the uniform and quick softening of any kind of wax, plate or preformed wax mould, with total adaptability and no crazing.

For any further detail on the construction technique of direct custom trays using a visible light-cured resin, Dr. Dario Castellani has kindly granted us permission to send out copies, in Italian or in English, of the paper "An alternative method for direct custom tray construction using a visible light-cured resin" by D.Castellani and M.Basile, which has already been published in The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry in July 1997.
