The working principle and use of anesthesia machine for animals
Use of anesthesia machine for animals.
An anesthesia machine for animals is a device designed to provide safe, effective and controlled anesthesia to animals during surgery or other situations requiring sedation. Anesthesia machines for animals work by mixing oxygen and anesthetic gas and then delivering it into the animal's airway through a breathing mask or tracheal cannula to put the animal into anesthesia.
There are many scenarios in which anesthesia machines for animals can be used, such as:
★ Operating rooms in pet hospitals, which can be used when performing surgery on animals of various sizes and species.
★ Animal laboratories, which can be used for various operations on experimental animals.
★ Zoos or wildlife sanctuaries, where wild animals can be examined, treated, tagged or transferred.
The use of anesthesia machines for animals is generally divided into the following steps:
1. Select the appropriate anesthetic gas. Choose the appropriate concentration and flow rate according to the animal's species, weight, health status and surgical needs.
2. Prepare a breathing mask or tracheal cannula, and select the appropriate type and size according to the animal's oral structure and size.
3. Pre-anesthetize the animal, either by injection or oral administration of some sedative or analgesic, to relax and sedate the animal.
4. Put the breathing mask or tracheal cannula over the animal's mouth and nose, and adjust the seal and comfort.
5. Turn on the power and oxygen source of the anesthesia machine, adjust the parameters, and start to deliver the gas mixture to the animal.
6. Observe the animal's response and vital signs, and adjust the depth and duration of anesthesia as needed.
7. After completing surgery or other operations, gradually reduce the delivery of anesthetic gas and allow the animal to regain consciousness and spontaneous breathing.
8. Remove the breathing mask or endotracheal tube and give the animal observation and care.
