Crematorium in Warsaw

PL reference

Following the increase in demand for the service, between October and November 2021 the Municipality of the city of Warsaw equipped itself with a second cremation line, by MES Europe, next to the existing one in operation since 2012. The plant was delivered on schedule in time, in accordance with the requirements of the Specifications drawn up by the Municipality of Warsaw.

It is the high-performance MES CRM / 6R model, the most advanced of the range, suitable for working in a continuous cycle 24 hours a day, if necessary. This cremator has a fully automated operation, as it is equipped with a PLC that automatically adjusts the processes according to the detected parameters. Furthermore, a computerized supervision and management system of the cremation process remotely controls the different cremation stages via PC. On the Control Panel, the operator has a touchscreen panel with graphic interface at his disposal, where he can view all the information on the status of the cycle, with the necessary commands to be able to intervene manually when needed. The cremator automatically evaluates and records all parameters related to each cremation. Cremation cycles last an average of 80 minutes, in relation to the size of the coffin.

In the project, the flue gases are conveyed to the chimney through a refractory duct, placed under the floor, which is easy to access for cleaning and maintenance.

MES CRM models have a monobloc structure, with front or rear ash discharge, of the “hot hearth” type: contrary to traditional cremators, in fact, Matthews technology puts the cremation chamber (or primary), in which the bodies are inserted, above the post-combustion (or secondary) chamber, into which the hot flue gases are conveyed, in order to optimize the consumption of auxiliary fuel. The beforementioned cremation hearth is designed to withstand loads up to 350 kg (the so-called XL coffins), against the usual 180 kg (standard coffins).

The design of CMR / 6R also takes into consideration the ergonomics of the machine, as the loading door is located 1.10 m from the ground to let the coffin enter easier and the discharge of the ashes is placed in a position that facilitates the work and health of operators.
