Introducing the New Catheter Exchange Kit from Meidplus Ltd

The Mediplus Catheter Exchange Kit allows the Foley catheter in place (whether urethrally or suprapubically) to be changed with the assistance of a dedicated guidewire. The purpose of the guidewire is to keep the suprapubic tract open, preventing multiple incisions. The guidewire provides greater confidence in placing the new catheter in the correct position.

Suprapubic Catheterisation (SPC) is an alternative catheterisation technique offered should a patient present symptoms of the bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) and where urethral catheterisation be unsuccessful or undesirable. It is also electively indicated in patients unable to tolerate long-term urethral catheterisation due to bladder spasm/discomfort/bypassing, and in patients with neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis and spina bifida.
