Disaster-response triage joins the MetaMedicsVR catalogue of VR simulations

Developed with the University of Barcelona: learners apply the START triage protocol in a large-scale flood scenario with multiple casualties.

MetaMedicsVR has added a disaster-response simulation to its VR training catalogue, developed with the University of Barcelona. Learners face a large-scale flood incident with multiple casualties and apply the START triage protocol: sorting patients by breathing, perfusion and mental status while the scene evolves and resources run short.

The simulation runs in single-user and classroom modes, in English and Spanish, and every decision is recorded for instructor-led debrief. It joins a catalogue of ready-to-deploy VR simulations that includes CPR and first aid, 3D anatomy, ECG and long-term care skills, all configurable from a web-based editor, with bare-hand tracking and no controllers.
