Donation - The light of Quanta reaches Cambodia
Quanta System Celebrates 40 Years of Excellence by Donating a Urological Laser in Cambodia
The Samarate-based company, a global leader in the design and production of medical lasers, has decided to donate its state-of-the-art Litho Evo model to Tenon Hospital:
"An act that embodies our mission — bringing the ‘light’ of Italian technology where it can truly make a difference."
Quanta System, an Italian excellence headquartered in Samarate and a global leader in the design and manufacture of medical laser systems for surgery, dermatology, and aesthetic medicine, is celebrating its 40th anniversary by reaffirming a strong commitment to international philanthropy.
During a celebratory convention held in July at Villa Erba in Como, CEO Girolamo Lionetti announced the donation of an advanced surgical laser, the Litho EVO, to Professor Véronique Phé — urological surgeon, university professor, and hospital physician at Tenon Hospital, Sorbonne University, and Deputy Vice President for Communications of the French Urology Association. The system is destined for the Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital in Phnom Penh.
The initiative, which significantly raises the standard of urological care available in Cambodia, culminated in a donation ceremony and a scientific workshop. The event was attended by H.E. Prof. Lem Dara, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health, representing the Minister of Health; H.E. Prof. Tan Sokun, Director of the Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital; the local medical team led by Prof. Bou Sopheap; Professor Véronique Phé; Dr. Steeve Doizi, Assistant Professor in the Endourology Unit of Tenon University Hospital in Paris; and several representatives from Quanta System.
The Litho EVO is a next-generation holmium laser system, renowned for its effectiveness in the minimally invasive treatment of urinary stones and prostate conditions. Its donation ensures that doctors at Preah Kossamak Hospital have access to precision tools that reduce recovery times and improve clinical outcomes — even for the youngest patients — providing a direct benefit to public health in the country.
“The celebration of our 40th anniversary is not only a time to look back at our past technological achievements but also to define how our innovation can create shared value for the future,” said Girolamo Lionetti, CEO of Quanta System. “Donating an advanced system like the Litho EVO in Cambodia is an act that embodies our mission: bringing the ‘light’ of Italian technology where it can make a difference, in line with the social responsibility principles guiding the El.En. Group, of which Quanta System is a member.”
“This donation in Cambodia is Quanta System’s concrete response to the mission redefining the future of laser-assisted urological surgery: technology must serve as a bridge between scientific excellence and tangible patient care. Our goal is not only to develop the gold standard for urinary stone disease and benign prostatic hyperplasia but to ensure that such standards are globally accessible. This gesture raises clinical standards and transforms innovation into real results, enhancing healthcare and clinical impact for millions of people worldwide,” added Filippo Fagnani, Scientific Director of Quanta System’s Surgical Business Unit.
The integration of the Litho EVO laser will be accompanied by an intensive training program, ensuring that local surgeons, led by Prof. Bou Sopheap, are fully equipped to maximize the clinical potential of the new technology.
This donation in Cambodia represents the latest testament to Quanta System’s ethical commitment. For four decades, the company has positioned itself not only as a technological leader but also as a pioneer of a business model that combines innovation, humanity, and global responsibility.
