Somnibel, the positional therapy
Your solution for positional apneas & snoring
Somnibel is a great step forward in comfort for patients with positional OSA problems. This type of OSA is common in up to 60% of the patients.
Somnibel is a very light device (17g) that sticks to the forehead of the patient using a single-use hypoallergenic adhesive. The device lightly vibrates when the patient sleeps in the supine position to induce him to change body position, reducing the occurrence of respiratory events while sleeping, whether as a result of positional apnea and snoring.
Improves sleep
If your patients suffer from positional apnea or snoring, it may help you to improve their sleep because in a high percentage of patients it:
• Reduces apnea index
• Increase blood saturation
• Can help reducing snoring index
• Improves sleep quality
• Reduces daytime sleepiness
• Improve partner’s rest
Why Somnibel?
• It is painless
• It is quiet
• It does not affect or fragment the sleep structure.
• It is comfortable and does not require an adaptation period.
• It is not invasive
• It is suitable for traveling, because it is light, small and easy to carry.
• It remains in place throughout the entire night.
• It benefits partner's rest.
• There are no side effects.
Somnibel is a class IIa device manufactured in accordance with European Directive on Medical Devices and the highest quality standards. We developed Somnibel in collaboration of two of the most important sleep centers in Spain: The University hospital of Araba in Vitoria and the Arnau de Vilanova hospitals in Lleida led respectively by Dr. Joaquin Durán and Dr. Ferran Barbé. Somnibel has been validated clinically in a randomized, dual-controlled multicenter study.
At Sibelmed we recommend the validation of Somnibel therapy for POSA patients:
- As a first therapeutic option for exclusive positional patients regardless of severity (non-dorsal AHI < 10).
- As a first therapeutic option for non-exclusive positional patients with mild to moderate AHI.
- As a second option for positional patients with PPC failure.
- In combination with OAM treatment.
