ABOUT FLUIDIZED BED DRYER (FBD)

In granulation process, Fluidized Bed Dryer (FBD) is most widely used equipment.

It is used for drying the material to get desired moisture content in the tablet formulation required for perfect compression. The Fluidized Bed Dryers are known for single stage operation and extensively used to convert solutions, suspensions, and slurries into dry powder within a few seconds without any intermediate handling. The high speed of the process and controlled temperature ensure the optimum efficiency of the process.

PRINCIPAL OF FBD/RAPID DRYER

Drying is a unit operation in which the heat mass transfer process consists of removing unwanted water, menstruum, or solvent by evaporation from liquid, solid and semi-solid.

Migration of moisture present in bounded form from the interior of a material to its surface, and the free moisture content present or unbounded water is get evaporated or vaporized into the surrounding atmosphere.
