Ritter Medical develops composite riplate® 96-well plates for fully automated robotic PCR screening

The riplate® PCR design uses composite materials to provide greater flexibility and better compatibility with robotic high throughput screening (HTS) in polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis as well as distinctive user benefits.

Composite construction

Specially developed for fully automated PCR / qPCR analyses, riplate® PCR uses a unique combination of two different materials: virgin polypropylene for the 96 transparent wells and polycarbonate for the surrounding frame. This allows it to deliver mechanical and temperature-resistant rigidity alongside high chemical resistance of the individual wells.

The riplate® PCR range is suitable for HTS applications in robotic systems, as well as for manual DNA analysis. They are consistent with the American Society for Biomolecular Screening (SBS) standard that forms the global template for microplates and are thus compatible with all common thermocyclers, e.g. Bio-Rad CFX, etc...

User benefits

Thin-walled wells of polypropylene provide excellent heat conduction and minimize condensation, while·V-shaped well bottoms maximize sample recovery and minimize waste.

The polycarbonate composition of the surrounding frame allows riplate® PCR to be handled easily, even in hot condition. Riplate® PCR plates are stackable and include alphanumeric codes to provide each well with its own reference identity, to allow accurate identification and tracking of different samples.

riplate® PCR range

Each Riplate® PCR plate consists of 96 Wells with a maximum volume of 200 µl/well. Raised well rims reduce the risk of cross-contamination. The plates are free of DNA, DNase, RNase and PCR inhibitors.

Barcoded option can also be ordered on request.
