Cerebral arteriosclerosis refers to the chronic encephalopathy such as neurasthenia syndrome arteriosclerosis dementia and pseudobulbar paralysis caused by multiple infarction, softening, necrosis and atrophy of the brain after cerebral arteriosclerosis. 

Cerebral arteriosclerosis is a part of systemic arteriosclerosis, but also the main pathogenesis of acute cerebral blood circulation, especially cerebral ischemic attack. It is the general term of cerebral artery wall degeneration and sclerosis caused by various factors, including the sclerosis of cerebral artery atherosclerosis which is often mentioned on medicine (big, middle arteries), arteriosclerosis, vitreous change of tiny artery calls cerebral arteriosclerosis.
