CoBOT Ultra: High-Power Autonomous UV-C Disinfection for Healthcare

Manual cleaning leaves more than half of surfaces untreated while healthcare-associated infections affect millions.

Manual cleaning leaves more than half of surfaces untreated while healthcare-associated infections affect millions. CoBOT Ultra, among the highest-powered UV-C robots in the world, delivers documented 6-log disinfection without chemicals.

Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) prolong hospital stays, add comorbidities and raise mortality. The ECDC records over 3 million HAIs a year in the EU with roughly 50,000 deaths, while the WHO estimates HAIs affect 7% of patients in developed countries, 15% in low- and middle-income countries, and up to 30% of intensive-care patients. Romania substantially underreports — 19,607 infections were logged in 2017, an implausibly low incidence of 0.53% of discharged patients. Part of the problem is method: studies show more than 50% of surfaces can remain untouched by manual cleaning, whose quality varies with staff training and turnover.

CoBOT Ultra was built to close that gap. Designed and manufactured entirely in Romania, it uses Philips 325 W UV-C sources at 253.7 nm for a total 3250 W and a 12,000-hour lifespan, housed in durable stainless steel weighing 65 kg. It disinfects surfaces and air to up to 99.9999% by disrupting microbial DNA, in short chemical-free cycles 25% more efficient than conventional chemical disinfection, with no ozone.

Every cycle is automatically recorded for 100% reproducible, documented, traceable results — efficacy already demonstrated across ambulances, patient rooms and operating rooms, and guaranteed at demonstration by certified dosimeters.
