Vascular interventional treatment of pulmonary embolism

Model:Pulmonary Artery

Pulmonary embolism (PE) refers to the clinical and pathophysiological syndrome of pulmonary circulation disorder caused by endogenous or exogenous emboli blocking the pulmonary artery. It is a very dangerous acute and severe disease, including pulmonary thromboembolism, fat embolism syndrome, amniotic fluid embolism, air embolism, tumor embolism and bacterial embolism. Among them, pulmonary thromboembolism is the most common type of pulmonary embolism.

The main treatments for pulmonary embolism include anticoagulation, thrombolysis, percutaneous catheter intervention and surgical treatment. Anticoagulation cannot quickly relieve the patient's severe right ventricular dysfunction in the treatment of acute medium- and high-risk PTE patients. Thrombolysis may have a greater risk of bleeding. Surgical treatment is generally used as an alternative remedy. Therefore, interventional treatment has become the best treatment option for patients with high bleeding risk and contraindications to thrombolysis. Interventional treatment methods include: catheter directed thrombolysis (CDT), ultrasound-assisted thrombolysis (USAT), catheter thrombus crushing, thrombus pulmonary artery balloon dilatation, and vena cava filter placement.

The pulmonary artery vascular model of Trandomed is made of silicone 3D printing, including the superior and inferior vena cava, right atrium, right ventricle, subclavian vein, pulmonary artery and iliac vein. The left and right lungs use 10 lung segments respectively (the end of the pulmonary blood vessels can be customized with various degrees of lesions), making the vascular structure easy to observe, and providing hands-on training for clinicians and medical professionals to help improve clinical skills and ultimately improve patient safety. The data are all real clinical cases, and the end of the pulmonary blood vessels can be customized with various degrees of lesions for training guidewire operation.
