What is a colonoscopy?
Model:Colonoscopy Simulator
Colonoscopy is a technique that inserts a flexible tube through the anus and uses the "camera" at the front end of the tube to view the entire large intestine. Usually, there is a channel inside the colonoscope for placing operating instruments, so that tissue can be clamped for pathological examination under the colonoscope, and even lesions can be removed. About 95% of colorectal cancers evolve from intestinal polyps. Colonoscopy can easily detect polyps and remove them by the way, which fundamentally eliminates the occurrence of colorectal cancer. After the colonoscope enters the intestine, it can clearly observe the entire intestinal wall, and things as small as 1-2mm can be seen, as large as millet. Because organs such as the gastrointestinal tract and esophagus are hollow organs, other examinations such as color ultrasound and CT cannot detect polyps and early cancer, only through gastroenteroscopy. Therefore, colonoscopy is the gold standard for detecting intestinal diseases.
The colonoscopy simulator is reconstructed based on real CT or MRI data of the human body and is made of soft silicone material 3D printing. The anatomical structure is realistic and the color and morphology are close to reality. Suitable for soft colonoscopy operation training, endoscopic examination and endoscopy-related surgery training.
Typical applications are as follows:
1.Can simulate colonoscopy for actual insertion training;
2.Highly simulate the colon structure and color effect under endoscopic surgery;
3.Can use colonoscope for simulated polypectomy training;
4.Can observe pathological conditions such as colon inflammation, tumors, polyps, diverticula, etc.
