New-Generation 3D-Printed Full-Body Circulatory System Delivered to Shandong Medical Device Quality Inspection Center for Testing and Validation of Newly Developed Interventional Devices

In August 2023, a state-of-the-art 3D-printed full-body vascular circulatory system was successfully installed and commissioned in the physics laboratory of Shandong Medical Device Quality Inspection Center.

Ranked among China’s four time-honored national medical device inspection institutes, Shandong Medical Device Quality Inspection Center is the exclusive medical device testing authority in Shandong Province, as well as a national-level inspection center for medical devices and pharmaceutical packaging materials, enjoying high prestige across the industry.

This delivery represents the second cooperation between the Inspection Center and Trando 3D since their initial collaboration back in 2017. It demonstrates that Trando 3D’s products have passed stringent evaluation and fully satisfy the stringent specifications, benchmarks and requirements of professional regulatory testing institutions. It also stands as a testament to the Inspection Center’s recognition and trust in Trando 3D’s comprehensive strengths in design, R&D and customized development.

Primarily made of silicone, Trando 3D’s full-body vascular circulatory system is reconstructed and customized based on authentic human CT and MRI scan data. The system closely mimics the elasticity and friction coefficient of natural human blood vessels, with adjustable parameters covering blood temperature, pressure, flow rate and more. Equipped with pressure measurement modules, it can capture and display real-time intravascular pressure curves. The system consists of multiple interchangeable modules, each supporting interventional testing of corresponding surgical devices, creating a highly simulated interactive surgical simulation environment.

The system is widely applicable to evaluating the safety, efficacy and overall quality of a full spectrum of interventional medical devices, including neurointerventional, coronary, aortic and peripheral interventional products. It enables thorough pre-market and pre-clinical verification of medical devices to ensure full compliance with relevant regulatory standards and specifications.
